G-Force team went to Astrakhan steppes two days before the start of 2 Round of Russian Rally-Raid Championship to get ready for the race. Members of the team came from different directions.
Boris Gadasin came from Saint Petersburg, where in the team garages the cars were being prepared for the competition Novitsky and Vitaly Evtekhov came from Crimea where they got a flawless victory in a Round of Ukrain Cup. Alexedy Cherednikov and Evgeny Kuznetsov flew in from Kazakhstan. The co-driver of Boris Gadasin -Vladimir Demianenko and family team of represent Moscow.
Another team from Saint Petersburg consisting of Alexander Baranenko and Dan Shemel joined us. Alexander asked out permission to participate in the tests before the race. He wanted to compare the suspension settings since his and Viktor Volikov's car are almost similar and it was very easy. Incidentally, DONERRE dampers proved themselves superior again which made both Boris Gadasin and its owner. After appropriate setting the car can drive substantially faster.
So this was a big and loud company. In two days the wheels have been digging through the surroundings of the steppe barkhans.
Traditionally, our training was closely monitored by the military – it’s Russian not Italian helicopters this time have been circling over the steppe during the two days. A typical scene of prestart days inAstrakhan lands: fighters roar in the skies, growling of prototype cars in the sands and almost silent production cars on the roads. Boris Gadasin has gotten a ride on all of the cars during these days. The suspension settings can be crucial for such race as Khazar Steppes – so team members paying special attention to them is understandable. Crews also practiced their usual "entertainment" such as replacing tyres – very useful for the seconds of the race. And Bogdan Novitsky’s mechanics fully rebuilt their car in the field conditions. Tight schedule of the race dictates its terms to the team members so nobody has been idle.
Although, the organizers forecasted rains, the sky was clear enough to tan. However no time for this – tomorrow – tomorrow administrative and technical checks as well as prologue SS1 of 4 kilometers are waiting for us. We will keep you updated!
