G-Force Motorsport
Hungarian Baja. Day one

IMG_8982The first day was a bit backwards as the prologue actually took place before the official start, but as you hear in the WRC sometimes in the FIA World Cup start order is all important. X-Raid's Leonid Novistky has a perfectly clear run through the 5.5 km Super Special Stage but for those running behind in his thick cloud of lingering dust it was a nightmare. “It was just impossible to see anything,” Boris said afterwards.

Brief News of Leg 4

_014Leg 4 started with a well-established tradition of optimistic buoyancy in G-Force camp. However when we taking photos  at the special stage viewer's point wondering why Boris and Roman haven't passed us yet, we received a phonecall from Dan Schchemel, Boris's co-driver. He told us that they rolled the car off a dune. They were waiting for some help when they saw Roman Briskindov approaching and then jumping and halting all of a sudden. Turned out that Roman's landing wasn't too successful and he didn't feel well. The teams called a helicopter which took Roman to the hospital. Doctors diagnosed him wit a crack in tailbone and strongly recommended not to race for next few weeks. So Roman has finished the race while we'll see Boris at tomorrow's start!

Current leaders of the event are Peterhansel in the first,  Novitskiy i the second and  Schchlesser in the third place. Tomorrow's the last decisive day which will define the true sand masters.

ABU DHABI DESERT CHALLENGE - finish

IMG_0646The Last day – Leg 5 – turned out to be the hardest of all and the easiest for the team. The hot desert wind changed it’s direction and a vicious dust storm made it almost impossible for the racers to see anything around filing the photographers cameras with handfuls of sands. Boris Gadasin intending to finish this stage with as much caution as he could handle was driving carefully and doing everything not to damage the car. He came 5th at all of PCs until some kilometers before the finish he got a bit stuck and lost a few minutes, finally finishing this stage seventh.

G-Force (Mis)Fortunes. Leg 1, 2 and 3

Leg 1

We wrote about what effort it took the team to get here from Italy with the events being so close together…. all the paperwork, flying the cars out, shipping the T5 service truck, renting the chase cars… And it all looked to be over just for 4km. Peterhansel called it “beginners mistake” but it was an unseen and unwritten in the road book sharp blind kink.
